VISUAL ARTIST - SURREALIST PAINTER
Lulú Michelli de Ferrer
Lulú Michelli de Ferrer is an Argentine surrealist painter, illustrator, actor and the widow of Horacio Ferrer, Piazzolla's lyricist and co-creator of Nuevo Tango who was twice nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature. Lulú illustrated numerous volumes of poetry and literature published by Ferrer. Her treatment of different tanguero subjects, including paintings, drawings, illustrations, posters and set design reflect the surrealist aesthetic which accompanied the revolutionary and progressive style of Nuevo Tango. Her works match in intensity and creativity the elevated poetry and prose of Ferrer’s writing.
Lulú's works are featured in the multidisciplinary program, Leonardo Suarez Paz's PIAZZOLLA 100: El Nuevo Tango showcased as part of the "2022 Nuevo Tango Arts GALA."
