Nuevo Tango Ballet in "Her TANGO"
What is "Her TANGO" and why? First and foremost, "Her TANGO" is a creative process to find the essence of tango through a female voice and perspective. This means deconstructing movement, the subject matter of our narratives and the way that we share this with our public. We do so in order find a contemporary authentic voice that can speak of relevant matters even as we examine or reexamine history. We call this new format tango-dance-theater, a contemporary, multidisciplinary bilingual narrative. This work in progress features three iconic instruments of Tango – violin, guitar, and bandoneon and members of Nuevo Tango Ballet. Together we are painting an intimate portrait of the genre through a female gaze and we hope you can join us to participate in this process.
