From Gabino Ezeiza over 100 years ago, to Suarez Paz, the family has left a mark on every major style and show including D’Arienzo, Pugliese, Salgan, Mariano Mores, Berlingieri, Piazzolla, TangoX2, Tango Argentino, Forever Tango. Today, Artistic Director Leonardo Suarez Paz, whose “knowledge conveys a century of individual styles” (The STRAD Magazine), continues to recreate the genre, following a vision passed on to him by his mentors Astor Piazzolla & Horacio Ferrer.
Suarez Paz TANGO & Leonardo Suarez Paz's PIAZZOLLA 100 recreates the music, song, dance and poetry of Buenos Aires as a complex, evolving art form, deeply rooted in tradition but with one foot in the next century. Suarez Paz TANGO is the sound and style behind numerous Grammy nominated and Grammy winning projects, historical recordings, Emmy winning TV programs, documentaries, motion pictures, Broadway shows and performances featured on world's premier stages.
We have created and collaborated on award-winning productions and provided services of the highest artistic quality since the 1970’s in Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the direction of Fernando Suarez Paz (Astor Piazzolla, Michel Legrand, Kronos Quartet, Ute Lemper, Philharmonic Orchesta of Buenos Aires) and since 2000 in New York, under the direction of Leonardo Suarez Paz (Orchestra Estable del Teatro Colon Opera House, Mariano Mores, Horacio Salgan, Savion Glover, Jim Hall Trio, Carlos Franzetti, Placido Domingo, Marco Antonio Solis, Luis Miguel, Ruben Blades, Tango Argentino (Gershwin Theater, Broadway), Tanguera (City Center, NY) in venues from Teatro Colon Opera House, Luna Park and CCK in Buenos Aires to the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Carnegie Hall and Madison Square Garden in New York to the Spoletto and Umbria Jazz festivals in Italy. Suarez Paz's Cuartetango remains the first and only Tango company to perform live at the Latin Grammy Awards Ceremony, following a double nomination.
