Leonardo Suarez Paz, un artista internacional que “posee un espíritu único y es un virtuoso extraordinario en el violín” (Wynton Marsalis), radicado en Nueva York desde hace dos décadas, dedica este concierto a su padre, Fernando Suarez Paz.
Leonardo, que creció al lado de Fernando Suarez Paz, Astor Piazzolla, Horacio Ferrer y muchas otras figuras legendarias del tango, ha tenido una carrera en la cual tocó bajo la batuta de creadores que fueron directores de su padre también en épocas pasadas, como Horacio Salgán, Mariano Mores, Atilio Stampone, Leopoldo Federico, Osvaldo Requena, Néstor Marconi, Osvaldo Berlingieri y muchos otros. Fernando y Leonardo comparten un patrimonio de incalculable valor y ahora “Fernando pasa la antorcha a su hijo.” (L. Tarantino). En honor a la gran carrera artística de su padre convocó a músicos que acompañaron su legado y con una mixtura que mira al futuro del Tango, músicos contemporáneos de Leonardo como pianistas Cristian Zarate y Abel Rogantini, violinista Pablo Agri, bandoneónista Federico Santisteban, contrabajista Daniel Falasca y otros y contemporáneos de Fernando, violinistas Miguel Angel Bertero, Carlos Sanguino, baterista Luis Ceravolo, compositor y maestro del bandoneón Nestor Marconi entre otros. Este concierto en el cual sus mujeres cumplen un rol primordial como compañeras artísticas y de vida Beatriz Suarez Paz canto y Olga Suarez Paz que junto a Leonardo bailaran el tango, también se sumara Laura Roatta con su ballet “Pies Desnudos” para poner el broche final a este homenaje en vida al que cambio el sonido del violín en el tango y lo registrara en el mundo entero con las grabaciones junto a Astor Piazzolla. |
Leonardo Suarez Paz, an international artist who “possesses a unique spirit and is a virtuoso extraordinaire on the violin” (Wynton Marsalis) dedicates this concert to his father, Fernando Suarez Paz, with whom he recently released an album of violin duos entitled “Escualo" (Azica/Naxos).

To honor the great artistic career of his father, Leonardo has summoned musicians who have accompanied Fernando and form a part of his legacy and musicians who demonstrate Tango as a genre that looks to the future; contemporaries of Leonardo such as pianists Cristian Zarate and Abel Rogantini, violinist Pablo Agri, bandoneonista Federico Santisteban, bassist Daniel Falasca and others and contemporaries of Fernando, violinists Miguel Angel Bertero, Carlos Sanguino, drummer Luis Ceravolo, composer and master of bandoneón Nestor Marconi among others. In this concert women also play a very important role as companions in art and life, singer Beatriz Suarez Paz and dancer Olga Suarez Paz, who will accompany Leonardo in tango dance. Choreographer Laura Roatta’s contemporary ballet “Pies Desnudos” will add the final touch to this homage in honor to the life and art of the violinist who changed the sound of tango and made it known around the world through his recordings with Astor Piazzolla. |
